Jews for Social Action at North Shore Temple Emanuel invites you to an online streamed event on Sunday 7th November at 5pm on the book Smuggled, An Illegal History of Journeys to Australia -
The guest speakers are Ruth Balint and Carina Hoang. Ruth co-authored the book which recounts the journeys to Australia of refugees and their smugglers since the Second World War – from Jews escaping the Holocaust, Eastern Europeans slipping through the Iron Curtain, ‘boat people’ fleeing the Vietnam War to refugees escaping unthinkable violence in the Middle East and Africa.
