This week’s Torah teaches about the construction of the Mishkan, our original holy place of communal gather. The Mishkan became the model for the Temple in Jerusalem and then synagogues around the world. As we learn this week, the presence of God, the Infinite One, was felt as each brought the gift of their heart to the space. Each of us has that gift that we bring to Emanuel Synagogue.
We are about to begin one of the most exciting projects in our history of Emanuel Synagogue, the most transformative since the project of the Millie Phillips Building begun about a decade ago. As World War II broke out, our founders had a vision as that took us from the 20th to the 21st century; so too, you can be part of the vision that will take us from the 21st to the next. We have had the benefit for 80 years of the Heritage Sanctuary, and it is now time for us to return the love and restore its splendour. We invite you to share the vision with us this Sunday, in person or on line.
Come be part of our heritage and help make our history.

We mourn the loss of our beloved member, Zina Fettmann who together with her husband Mick, the shamas of the synagogue for many years, gave so much to our congregation. She was present every Shabbat and festival service, learning in our classes and was a special presence in the congregation.
Zina’s funeral was held last week and if you would like to watch you can see it by clicking on thislink.
