Exactly 26 years ago, our dear Rabbi Jacqueline Ninio was installed at Emanuel Synagogue. Since 1998, her influence, energy and tireless dedication to our congregation has fostered a close-knit, socially responsible and compassionate community. On Sunday 8 September, we will celebrate this legacy at Rabbi Ninio's Silver Jubilee. Make sure you’ve registered here to participate in this momentous occasion. Mazel tov, Rabbi Ninio!
Unsurprisingly, we're not the only ones who recognise Rabbi Ninio's brilliance. Tune in to Ray Martin's The Last Goodbye on SBS where Rabbi Ninio makes a scene-stealing appearance in the concluding episode. The three-part series sees the acclaimed journalist taking an investigative deep dive into one of Australia's last taboos, death, as he plans his own funeral.
Today, Rabbi Jeffrey Kamins returns from his long service leave, arriving just in time for an incredible couple of months in our calendar. We are delighted to have him back on campus and look forward to hearing more about his travels.
