Ofakim Leadership Program 2025 Application

Bringing together passionate young Jews from across Sydney, Ofakim aims to equip Jewish teens with the necessary knowledge and tools to stand up for themselves and the Jewish community of today and tomorrow. The leadership program draws upon Jewish and contemporary teachings to support participants in translating leadership concepts to practical skills that can support them in all areas of their lives. By learning how to create social change, educate others, and engage in dialogue with those with whom you disagree while building identity, interpreting Jewish texts and values, and leading t’filla (prayer), this program will allow participants to deeply expand their horizons (ofakim). Graduates of Ofakim will be ready to become leaders and changemakers in the Jewish community and beyond.

Applicants must:

Be in years 8 or 9 at school;
Identify as Jewish;
Be accepting of diversity and pluralistic Jewish practices;
Commit to participation in the entirety of the program;
Apply before 18 February 2025.

Application process:

Complete this application by Tuesday 18 February, 2025;
Attach a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or someone who can attest to the applicant’s suitability for a leadership program;
Participants will find out if their application is successful by February 24.
