PROTOCOL FOR ATTENDING SERVICES

ATTENDANCE
  1. Members of the community who are considered to be of high risk (over the age of 70 or have other medical conditions) should consider whether it is appropriate to attend services at this time.
  2. Anyone who has returned from overseas or travelled to Melbourne in the last 14 days is also prohibited.
  3. Persons who have tested positive for COVID-19, or have in the past 14 days been in close proximity with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, are prohibited from attending Shule.
  4. If you have had a fever (above 37.5C) or have any of the following symptoms: cough, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath you are prohibited from attending Shule.
  5. On the day of your allocated attendance at Shule, if you are feeling unwell please do not attend services. 
  6. Please bring your own kippah and Tallit.

ENTERING THE SHULE PREMISES
  1. Keep a distance of 1.5 metres where possible.
  2. Arrive 15-30 minutes before service time.
  3. Enter only via the allocated entrance.
  4. Sanitise your hands prior to entering Shule. (Sanitiser will be provided).

DURING SHULE AND DAVENING
  1. Stay in your place and do not walk around.
  2. Cover your nose and mouth if you need to sneeze or cough.
  3. Sanitise your hands as often as necessary.

TORAH READING
  1. Only the Baal Koreh may touch the Torah from Pesicha until it is returned to the Aron.
  2. The Baal Koreh will perform Hagba and Gelila.
  3. If you receive an Aliya you will recite the blessing from your seat.

AFTER DAVENING AND BETWEEN MINYANIM
  1. Do not congregate after davening. Please leave promptly through the designated exit door, remembering to maintain social distancing.
  2. No more than the maximum number of allowed people may attend the premises at any given time. This will be strictly enforced.
  3. The Shule will be keeping a record of those who have attended services, for public health purposes, as we are required to do. 
  4. The Shule will be cleaned and disinfected between each service.
