2024 TIKKUN LEIL SHAVUOT AT EMANUEL SYNAGOGUE

WRESTLING WITH OUR DIFFERENCES AFTER OCTOBER 7TH

Since October 7th, many of us have been struggling with our relationships at work, at home, with friends and community. We have found ourselves faced with disagreement and differences of opinion. For some, it has severed life-long connections between people, families are divided, and we do not feel heard or understood in our workplaces and communities.

Over the course of the evening, we will create a space for individuals to share the impact of the last months on their personal, work, and community lives, and Rabbi Jacqueline Ninio will draw on her quarter-century of experience to help us navigate this new terrain.

Following a break for dinner, lovingly prepared by Nora’s Kitchen, we will reassemble as each of our rabbis presents a text that offers guidance about how to disagree effectively.

In the final session, after being treated to cheesecake, we will break up into smaller circles to learn, share and connect on a more personal level.

Running in tandem with this program is a dedicated offering for our teenagers and young adults. Proudly presented in collaboration with Netzer, Habonim, Ayelet Hashachar, and Moishe House, we are excited to be able to create a space for the next generation. More details coming soon.

We look forward to sharing Shavuot with you.
