As we count down the days to Pesach, we have many opportunities to help you prepare and celebrate the festival of freedom: sedarim, special services, events for children and families, as well as a food drive and other ways to give to and include others. Unfortunately, due to a number of factors, our communal seder was going to be cost-prohibitive (around $100 per person) to hold on the second night, so we have decided to have a casual family seder on Saturday eve and gather on the Tuesday of the week of Pesach for our communal seder. If you are hosting a seder in your home this year on first or second night and would be able to have an extra guest or two at your table, we would be grateful for you to contact the synagogue and let us know.
Stay safe and well and enjoy the challah on Shabbat for the next few weeks before Pesach arrives!

Pesach Food Drive “…let all who are hungry come and eat”
We offer this invitation at the beginning of every Pesach seder and much as we would like to do so, we cannot find a place at our sedarim for all the hungry in our community. But we can, at this time of year, bring food to the tables of those in need.
As you clear out your cupboards and prepare for Pesach, we would love you to bring a donation of non perishable food to the synagogue for our Pesach food drive.
What: Non-perishable food items (please check used by dates)
Where: Drop to WOODS AVE gate during office hours and into the baskets in the foyer on shabbat

If you would like to be involved, please email Michelle at our office, michelle@emanuel.org.au and she will send you all the information and details Click to email Michelle
PATHWAYS TO HOPE
The inspiration we gain as a consequence of seeing Israeli and Palestinians join in creating a new reality ‘on the ground’, a reality of peacebuilding and trust based on mutual needs, is significant.
Whether on climate (EcoPeace), health (Project Rozana) or education (Kids4Peace) it is taking place in many places and types of activities.
Huda Abuarqoub is the regional director of ALLMEP, the peak body of over 100 such organisations.
Come and hear her at Bryan Brown Theatre, Bankstown (free transport from Bondi Junction available) – it is her only public event!
JSPS is providing Mental Health First Aid training next week and there are a few spaces available. If you would like to recommend the training to anyone in your organisation, family or friends please feel free to do so.
We are all shocked by the unfolding war in Ukraine. There are a number of Jewish organisations which have established funds to provide humanitarian aid to communities there. If you would like to donate, you may wish to consider one of these funds:
We have been devastated by the floods here in NSW and Queensland. There is great need as the rescues continue and the recovery begins. If you would like to make a donation, here are four websites for you to consider:
