On the seventh day of Pesach we read about the splitting of the Sea of Reeds (Red Sea), the demise of the pursuing Egyptians, as well as Shirat Hayam, the Song of the Sea. This song is identified with the Israelites’ expression of faith and their recognition of God’s role as protector.
Willow's Bat Mitzvah
Thank you so much to everyone who joined us to celebrate Willow’s bat mitzvah. We were so touched by all of your presence with us online during the day and those who watched afterwards, your messages and well wishes.

Zikaron Salon - Remembering the Holocaust Next Tuesday 6 April from 6:30pm
Zikaron BaSalon is a unique style of event and provides an intimate and engaging way to commemorate the holocaust.
For one night, engage with special memories – in a way you never have before. Listen first-hand to a survivor telling their story.
Our guest will be Holocaust survivor Peter Reisman who will discuss his experiences prior, during and after World War II. This event is a rare opportunity to hear Peter’s story of survival, and to ask any questions that you may have. This is a special in-person event at Emanuel Synagogue; numbers are strictly limited.

FOR THE PLAY “TWO SISTERS” BY GAIL LOUW
The Producer and Emanuel Synagogue invite expressions of interest for professional actors to audition to co-star with Jean Kittson in a dramatised reading of “Two Sisters”.
“Two Sisters” is a funny and poignant play about two sisters who re-unite on a kibbutz in Israel for the elder sister's 75th birthday. The part calls for a woman who can play a sister,
aged in her 60s or early 70s.

Julian Leeser served as vice-president of the Liberal Party of Australia (New South Wales Division) from 2015 to 2016 and was elected to parliament at the 2016 federal election. After the 2019 election Julian became chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Migration and the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Indigenous Affairs. He is the Member for Berowra, New South Wales.
We are offering weekly Beginners and Intermediate Hebrew classes as well as classes in learning to chant Haftarah on Monday evenings in term. We will open the world of reading a Hebrew prayerbook for you! Your commitment is just one hour a week and 10-15 minutes practice a day.

Join us for our Beyachad service which weaves elements of the Progressive, Masorti and Renewal services beyachad, together.
This service is in-person; registration is not required but please use the Service NSW app for the QR code on arrival.
Shabbat Live Fridays at 6:15pm Please note, Shabbat Live will not be on this Friday. This week, please join our special Pesach Beyachad service from 6:15pm.
Join us in our sanctuary or online as we welcome the Shabbat with the spiritual, meaningful, music, prayers and stories of Shabbat Live.
Children's Shabbat Services Saturdays from 10:30am to 11:30am This weekly service is especially for children from 5 to 10 years and provides a space for them to learn basic elements of the synagogue service, learn songs and enjoy activities.

Pesach 8th Day Sunday April 4th at 10:00am Pesach Beyachad with Yiskor
Join us for our Beyachad service which weaves together elements of our Progressive, Masorti and Renewal services. This service will include the prayers for Yizkor and we will read the names of those who have died from Shavuot to Pesach in our congregation as well as recite prayers for all our loved ones.
There are mourners in our community to whom we extend our sincerest sympathies on the death of their loved ones.

Morning Minyan
A meaningful way to begin the day. The morning minyan provides an opportunity to welcome the day with prayer, and a chance for mourners to recite kaddish.
Minyanim are on Zoom from 7:30am Monday to Friday. In addition they are in the Millie Phillips Building on Monday and Thursday at 7:30am; Bar and Bat Mitzvah students may attend on those days. Note: this week Monday's minyan will be at 8:00am.

Join Rabbi Ninio as she explores the rules and regulations around the construction and operation of a mikvah as we look at the possibility of building our own mikvah here at the synagogue.
